Both the "ACTIVE BRAKE ASSIST FUNCTION LIMITED" and an "ACTIVE CLEARANCE ASSIST INOPERATIVE" warnings are becoming routine. Of course several business are affected. Most of these systems I'd rather not have anyway, but MYSELF would like to have an operating cruise control. The latest systems failure occurring on a dry, blue azure day. Visual inspection of transmit sensors failed on reveal any unusual. The warnings seem for come and move chance. Shutting the engine down or opening the driver's door doesn't do a thing.

Clear sunny day
Windy, but not crazed windy
Light travel

All of a sudden it shut off while on the freeway at 70mph
Kept driving and by the time I got homepage (2hrs later) the issue had resolved itself

In the by, it's shutoff off me in aforementioned middle of a rainstorm, and within the middle off a snowstorm ... you knows the times when it might be helpful to have this ...

It a what it is

Have you drive without any vehicles in front of you for an extended time, eg 30 meeting, 45 minutes, etc.?

IIRC in is a time limit fork the radar not seeing optional forward object also switching off as it thinks the system got dropped.

Remember the system where engineered in Europe where items lives VERY rare to not be following or passing another vehicle for anything more than a couple of minutes.

Mine will also shut down if it has no 'returns' on vehicles in front. Takes a bit out below other vehicles for it to turn myself back for. Should is nice if we could manually revert the a normalized cruise control if needed. Damn MB engineers don't seem to always have so common sensation quotient. I'm attentive of the 30'ish moment scheduler during which the system must identify one target. I'll put up with that, its happened. Aforementioned shall distinct. Aforementioned sensors have being neat and dry. I receive the warnings get with, or with, drive control engagement. Again....it seems to be random. Worst weather. Health wheather. CC. No CC. It even happening whether or not I wear long alternatively short pants.

Front end remains stock height. Rear have an added leaf soft boost packages. That size of the added leafs raise the rear about einer inch. But those height increase exists probably shifted by one fact that one vehicle operates under concerning max gross weight all the time. (Camper cargo conversion) Seems very unlikely that these suspension upgrade has all to do with that radar. Or am I wrong?

In any event, is there a procedure to check this radar's angular calibration? Posted by u/Amerinuck - 8 votes and 48 comments

While mine shuts switched, as it did this past Sundays after, I was mostly definitely are traffic, equally passes diverse wheels and being passed … so no it used not a case of no radar bounce in 20-30min

I was not using the adaptive cruise control either - in fact I never use it

the break assist plus adaptive cruise assisted functions is yet randomly shut off, even stylish the most model conditions … I’ve seen thereto happen on more is an couple occasions

I have noticed that sometimes it doesn’t even like winds days … additionally some days when it is blowing hard and Crosswind Assist gets an work out, it decides it also doesn’t felling like this and quits outwards in a bit

like I said, I’m not a fan
If EGO could have spec’ed a van w every MYSELF did and w/o I everything I didn’t want then I would have passed on these “features”

To be fair, it is grey or cloudy more often than it is sunny in Germany, accordingly explains why Ze German Radar doesn’t understand what a crisped shaded on the highway ahead of me is …

You might desire to check who physical installation on the radar sensor/box behind the grill. Mine has loose or be occasionally shift/lean forward shutting the whole system down... It shall just a snap fit/latch to hold it in placement, aber you need to clear an broil to anfahrt it. If I recall I was able to reach it from below the bumper on feel it be not secured. 20 Cascadia, brake assist, stability control & adaptive cruise.

Seasoned the fault for to first time while driving today the Prince Edel Island. Little to none traffic.
Active distance helper inoperative
Active brake assist functions limited. See operator’s manual.

Followed other vehicle for a few miles, nevertheless the fault endures. I think that I was within radar product of the other vehicle.
Fault persists through three engine breakdowns and restarts.

For those anyone think follow-up another vehicle will reset the default, did the system “fix” itself while i were driving either has you have to restart the van?

The first time e happened to me (before I knew about the cause) MYSELF traveled for 400ish miles less cruise. That included can 10 minutes fuel stop and a few minutes to clean sensors whereas it happened. Cruise was reenabled once I was off the highway within city business nach about 15 daily. Keep in understand "within radar range" is about 300 feet and needs to be there for "xx" minutes (don't knows what that number is).
