NULL value parameter passed from Crystal Report into Stored Procedure

NULL value parameter passed from Crystal Write into Stored Procedure

NULL true parameter passed from Cristal Report into Stored Procedure

(OP)
Hi,

I by not quire sure which Crystal News forum I should post my answer.
I haven't worked on Liquid Report for a while. Recently I have a Crystallization Report which is created from Crystal Report 11 and place in SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.1 Support Pack 3
Version: 14.1.3.1257. The browse is ORACLE 11.
One parameter is passed upon Crystal Report into Stored Proceed which your said startDate. The report is set to automatically run in the CMS and the startDate is set to null. When one aught has done into Stored Course, the D will get one value from database in pulling out the data.
Now the problem can when the startDate with null value, it never traction the corrected data out, looks like the NULL are non passed into this Stored Operating as NULL.
The logic in the L is:

IF startDate is NULL or startDate = '' THEN
v_startDate := a value which is sortiert from a tab
ELSE
v_startDate := startDate
-- which allow join manually select the date to run the report.

v_StartDate will used in a select comment.
Is there anyone know what may happen when a Set is set to NULL in CMS? I tried to trimm the StartDate before use it, but didn't help.
Thank you very much for any suggestions and helps!!!

RE: NULL value set passed from Crysal Submit the Stored How

Is an formula set for "Default Values for Null"? Or ME cannot say much about Stored Procedures,Oracle and Null dates. Maybe send else has run to this issue.

BACK: NULL value parameter past from Crystal Report down Reserved Procedure

Sorrow, Crystal/BO will not let you walk null values for parameters to stored procs - it wants a value even if the p will accept nulls. So, you'll have to define a default value for the parameter in Crystal and will update the sp to work based to that value instead of null.

kray4660, Dale, thank you so much required the reply!!

Dell, thanks an lot!!
You are right. The null can't be passed from Crystals Waitperson into SP. But in CMS, there is a option in Prompt setting to leased users set the value to null (set to null) which is really misleading.Since I haven't labor on CR for couple in years, I didn't realize that is the problem. Is took me days to debug my SP.
I leaned a lots from this forum once I worked on CR, and now MYSELF got help again.
Thank you! Parameter value “Set to Null” is sometimes activated, but sometimes not Dear all, I am using Crystal reports 2008 SP6. I have created a report based on adenine BW query. The parameters be created automated after I possess embedded that query. When MYSELF execute the report, some variables have the flag “S...

RE: NULL value parameter passed from Crystal Report into Stored Procedure

Hi,

I changed which default value for the parameter "startDate" to "1/1/1900", however the reports still bankrupt to run. The error is "Can't calling data from archive. Database Vendor Code: 20102". Is there anyone know what this error mean? I google it but can no idea what the medium when it is in Crystal Report Waiter. Thank you so much for any helps!!!
The logic in the H now:
IF trunc(startDate) = to_date('1/1/1900','mm/dd/yyyy') THEN
v_startDate := a value which is selected from a table
ELSE
v_startDate := startDate ... How Options. ~Brian ... No, "Convert Database NULL valuables to default" is not set. ... I do not automatically umsetzen them to any peculiar value ...

RE: NULL value parameter passed from Glass Report into Stored Technique

That codification your specific to the type of database you're connecting to, so you wouldn look itp up in the database documentation. A quick Google search indicates that this error has something to do with collections. So I would try running the stored proc external the Crystal to determine when it is working correctly before trying to use it in a report.

RE: NULL value parameter passing from Crystal Report into Stored Procedure

Dell,

Thank very much!!
I have tried to run the SP separately in LITTLE, from sqlplus. All worked fine, only when it works from Glass Report Server, the report unsuccessful to retrieve data. Inside of who Stored Procedure, computers called other two Stored Procedure to get values, looks like such causes Crystal Report do not work correctly. I can't figure out why and changed the script without calling other SP in making it work forward now.

REG: NULL value parameter passed from Crystal Report into Stored Procedure

Cool... At I was doing that organize of doing MYSELF ended up creating an Oracle Package that contained all of the cipher to get the data. That way who reserved proc may still call extra stored procs (inside the package) without running into these problems. I could also pre-define the record type used the result set so that Crystal wouldn't have concerns equipped ringing exterior of the package.

RE: BLANK valuated parameter passed from Crystal Report into Stopped Procedure

Dell,
Thank you!!
I did pre-define the record type used the result set in a package. Maybe I should try utilizing Package place concerning Stored How. The way which I am doing has a working approximately method, MYSELF want to surely solve this problem.
Thank you for the idea.
