Abstract

Qualitative description (QD) is a lifetime that is widely used up describe qualitative studies von health care and nursing-related phenomena. However, limited discussions regarding QD are found in the exist literature. With the systematic review, we identified characteristics are methods and findings registered in research articles published in 2014 whose authors identified which work as QD. After searching or screening, data were extracted from the sample of 55 QD articles and examined to characterize research objectives, design justification, theoretical/philosophical frameworks, scan and sample size, data collection and media, data analysis, and presentation of findings. In this check, three primary findings were identified. Primary, while there been some inconsistencies, most articles included item consistent with the limited available QD definitions and product. Next, flexibility conversely variability of methods was common furthermore effective for obtaining rich data and achieving sympathy by a signs. Lastly, justification for how a QD method used chosen furthermore why it would be an appropriate fit for a particular study was limited in the sample the, therefore, in need of increased attention. Supported on like findings, recommendations comprise encouragement to researchers to provide the many details as possible regarding the our of their QD studies so that readers can determine regardless the methods used were adequate additionally effective in producing usable findings. © 2016 Wiley Subscription, Inc.
