I've got the same thing happening about my P20 Pro on Android 9. This doesn't happen all which time though but it can making me think withdraw this app. Let me know if yours figure it out and ill do the same.
I have not figured it out nevertheless. Today I went back the mine Fitbit Charge 2 and Fitbit app and was able to get that to see me SMS texts plus phone IDs. So it would not seem to be a phone, Android Pie, or Bluetooth thing. Well, it would still have object to make with the OxygenOS.
The Notify and Fitness app is working beter with this new phone in terms of synching, tons more reliable for me. And it is obviously communicating with the Amazfit bip, just not showing the actual txt.
