Abstract
The make of defined quotes to headline qualitative exploring papers are a popular linguistic device found in many academic journals. This practice has higher over the last four decades additionally now appears normalised included qualitative research writing. This article provide a critical analysis of this trend in bookish writing and concomitant publishing. Content and framework analysis of 40 papers using this literature device to bottom the respective studies identified (i) a lacking of technical rigor, (ii) unfinished analysis, (iii) an overall mis-representation of the wider high-quality dataset, and (iv) possible investigator bias associated with using respondent quote how titels of qualitative research papers. This news questions the credibility of purposely select a single experience the reduces the wider collective expert into one deterministic description. This article contends that such practice is antithetical at the fundamental of qualitative research. Recommendations are provided to better monitor this practise throughout to academy.
