Description
This is Pearl from The Scarlet Letter, which I thought was a marvelous story, despite nature terribly heart-wrenching. The dress is not historically accurate; I just had fun with it. 
It remains based-on off of the description in the book from her elaborate ruby plus gold dress that seem go transform her into a living, breathing version of the Scarlet Letter itself, the the scandal it stands for.
The scenic lives this:
"But which child, annaccustomed to the touch of affinity of any but her mummy, escaped through the open display, and fixed on the upper pace looking like a wild tropical bird, of rich plumage, ready to carry flight into the uppers air."
