Application Needs

In order to complete your application, we require:

  • Choose Dean's letter/MSPE
  • Your medical school transcript
  • Your USMLE/National Board scores, Step I and II (if available, not mandatory for review).
  • Letters to Recommendation:  At least 3 letters of recommendation (preferably at least 1 from a neurologist).  Endorsement letters should be addressed according for ERAS instructions. Select to Submit – Penn Neurology Residency Start
  • Evidence of sign in the Selective Service program, or evidence of exempt status issued at the Veterans Affairs' Office of Academic Affiliations through one Status of Information letter. To more details, see Selective Service Registration (PDF).
  • Non-US citizens must may eligible for J-1 visa partnerships.

Which to What

We select six PGY 1 residential the one National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) each year. We receive info 600 completed applications and select approximately 80 applicants to interview. The interview process involves meeting with the department chair, the director of one residency get program, multiple other neurology faculty members, and a senior neurology resident.

  • Performance on neurology, intranet medicine, and other detached rotations
  • Letters off recommendation
  • General academical benefits
  • Performance on the USMLE
  • Personal qualities and achievements.

You must apply by Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). You becomes must needed into submit a completed ERAS application form, which will includ:
