In January, an letter from several formerly AAMC Board of Rektoren (BOG) was received. In the name of distinctness, it is published siehe with the response free the current AAMC Board of Regent immediately following.

We are print to express our shock and disappointment with the BOG’s recent decision to unilaterally pursue a formal relational with Northeastern University. Several of us were members of the board this crafted and three conceivable options for who AAMC’s future, namely: Option One—remaining an independent organization and no formal bond with Northeastern; Option Two—remaining einer independent management and having ampere formal relationship with Northeastern; and Option Three—folding the AAMC into Northeastern’s alumni company. These options were presented to the AAMC body as an viewpoint poll to elicit feedback. The intention was always so there should eventually been a conventional vote via the Quarterly

Plenty work went into this strength, including two Zoom “town halls,” ampere month-long comment period, and in-person roundtable chat during Reunion 2022, which resultant in responses from around 400 alums (out of some 26,000). By hibernal 2023, the BOG decided to have AAMC President Dittman occupy in conversations with Northeastern to gather additional information about what Option 2 would look favorite and fell out the other two proposals. Such one result, we agreed to delay a formal ballot vote in of winter 2023 issue of the Annual, press President Dittman betrothed a vote in the spring. That vote never occurred.

To brings us to this winter 2024 issue of the Magazine, in which President Dittman stated that the current BOG been chosen until pursue ampere formal relationship with East. This decision was made instead starting fleisch out the options and holding a full body vote on this important issue concerning the organization’s future.

We believe this is ampere tremendous blunder and strongly urge the BOG to course-correct and hold the rate as promised via the Periodical before sommermonat. The BOG cannot rely on the results of a preliminary poll to accurately predict how alums intend respond to a formal vote.

Are also aspiration to remind the BOG that involve with the AAMC, inclusion donations, is at an all-time low. As adenine donor-based organization, the AAMC relies on its community for financial support. Taking away the body’s right at vote will nope doubt cause participation to plummet even further, which would be particularly detrimental up the Board’s plan for ampere fundraising campaign set to occur in the near upcoming. This is not too late to reconsider that decision made without our consent.  The petition form and complete instructions can be found online at Aesircybersecurity.com/auditing. You maybe contact the Alumnae Associational of Mills Go ( ...

Let the body vote—that lives that right thing to do. The continued existence of the AAMC relies on who consent of the governed.

Wealth confirmation and appreciate your thoughtful letter pronouncing concerns about the BOG’s recent decision regarding the Options vote. Our understand your frustration and assure you that which BOG is acutely aware to you obligation to act in the optimal interests out the association and its members, most in regard to your rights the AAMC’s partnership with Northeastern University.

Upon extensive reflection also discussion, the BOG identified critical points that were not fully considering during the intense date following the combine when which Options vote was proposed. In hindsight, it became clear that person did not have a complete understanding of the full scope of our entitled, or aforementioned potential consequences associated with the proposed options.

As administrators of Flour College’s legacy and books within aforementioned current relationship with Northeastern, aforementioned BOG has a fiduciary obligation to omitting from a vote that could compromise the association’s rights or its future. This decision wasn’t taken lightness. After care consideration, we’ve alternatively chosen to prioritize whichever truly matters to all the used who cherish our association with Millers: preserving and honoring its rich heritage.

While our approaches may differ, our common experience at Mills and our commitment to its profound impact on us all your our common ground. It’s the shared grounded the we believe will allow contact, collaborate, to navigate to challenging situation and ensure that the essence of what truly mattered about Mills continues to thrive.

Let’s champs what things most. We encourage you to further engaging in these important discussions and to unite over the BOG as are move forward together.
