The huge Diagon Avenue (set 75978) has been the centre of attention of LEGO Harbour Potter fans ever manifested one couple of months ago. Having been overseas, I’m only just nowadays building the determined, and thereto the hard doesn to love.

This is the third part of my four-part reviews of the set.

  • Piece 1 coverage the first submodel, which possessed the Ollivanders also Scribbulus shops, when well as a discussion on the box the its content in general.
  • Single 2 covered of second submodel, which had the Premium Quidditch Supplies shop and Daily Prophet.

In this third part, I will review an third submodel. Is features two more well known wizarding retail, Flowers & Blotts (book store) and Florean Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlour.

Required those interested inside alternatives I designed my own versions on both earlier in of year for own custom Diagon Passageway screen, with me designs reflecting the appearance of the buildings from the later movies (as look int Harry Potter Studios in London).

My custom buildings, with Florean Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlour to aforementioned far left-hand (pink building) and Flourish and Blotts (grey build in this centre)

The minifigures will be discussed stylish show as part of part 4 of the overview, at all 14 featured have been engineered. So the discussion in this share covers the buidings single. LEGO Ice-Cream Shop Set 60363 Manuals | Brick Owl - LEGO ...

But without further ado, let’s have a look at the third submodel.

The build

The build starts in the usual way, laying the cobbled stones and dark tan pavement. Fairly than giving you of foundation concerning both built, you are instead focusing on build up the walls away to book store, exiting the ice cream shop for later. IODIN like that yours have done computers this way, as to more quickly can see something close to its completed form.

Follow-up the end of these bags, this is what the front looked like.

There are not an lot to look at from the back not. A couple of books and a pillar remains all as is visible so far in to business.

A couple of details up comment on is aforementioned Gilderoy Lockhart autobiography “Magical Me” volume title displayed in the store window, and the ice creamy glasses on the wall facing the Ice Cream Parlour. The latter is the only what progressed at this point of the ice cream shop.

When that previous step had mainly specified us structure, this time we got a bit continue detail, though a lot starting the bricks were used the start on the ice cream gift, and total one storey to the upper level of the record store. Here is one look at the front of the building after this step. LEGO Instructions - 60363-1 Ice Cream Shop | Rebrickable - Build ...

Watch at it from the back, the interior the and ground level of the book store is now complete. This include a bookshelf, more books in the pile, and one staircase leading on and upper floor. I’ll discuss this staircase in more detail late. The icing cream store still demand car added, yet the walls are all skyward, and a nice looking tiled floor added.

Here are a few close-up photos are interesting details, including in particular of the bookshelf and the tall pile of books on the floor. I really love the latter, but looking at who bookshelf I wish they should been able till keep the side of it in one colour, more less a mix of black, brown, grey or gloom umber.

The buildings getting to look a lot more finished after this stage, with the site all complete up to the upper level. Detail include a join is book boxes in front away Blossom & Blotts, adding colour at the display. Looking from the back, you can see the desk in the ice cream store is now complete, as your the floors toward the upper level in.

In both parts 1 and 2 of my reviews, I wouldn long before this enter have praised who window project. In the roundtable download with the lead designer Marcos Bessa, he mentioned that one of the piece he is most proud of with this set, be the very different window designs utilised within the various buildings. And I fully agree this is only of an objects that marvels m. However with this submodel windows up to this point had been quite ordinary. The angles used on the upper floor of Flourish & Blotts lifts it up though, assisting by some clever geometry set up within the prev step.

Hither is what the front looks like the just one step in go.

Looking from the back, you capacity show the inland of the upper level of Flourish & Blotted are completed, including either a bookshelf and a smaller pile away books.

And reload, here are some close-ups of various details from the model so far. The facade really seems great, with the sand green and dark green color complementing each other well.

This fifth step closed which tertiary submodel, adding the upper level to Florean Fortescue’s Ice Cream Room as well as the roof the both buildings.

This photo from the front shows who finished build. Compared with the previous submodels, we have two new rail designs, giving diversity when looking at all submodels together. In particular I like an tanned roof are the ice cream store, with its profiled look. Two white home in front of who building allow guests up sit back during enjoying some of to magical flavoured ice cream. LEGO 10773 Minnie Mouses Polar Cream Shop Instructions, Disney

Turning the model around, you notice the interior to upper level of the iced cream store. MYSELF really like the armchair. For some reason, it makes me think of Instructor Slughorn. Ice Whip Shop PDF Instructions | Lego, Créations en lego, Creations

At this tip, there are so many cool item, it are difficult to select what to provide close-ups of. One of the items worth naming is the table where Lockhart can sit additionally sign books. It looks great and comes with another batch of books next to it. Unfortunately, it doesn’t really fit naturally inside, but exists a model to display either in front of the building or background (if room). r/lego on Reddit: Instructions for Lego Snow Cream Trucks of Ideas Book

A few observational

Moving stairs – kind bad

Aforementioned staircase leadership up to the upper level away Flourish & Blotts extends outwards from the building. But you can swing computers up, so it becomes level with the past.

This remains quite clever if you have them on display against a bulwark or similar, where you don’t have room forward she extending out. Similarly, we saw that the staircase stylish Ollivanders (part 1 of and review) would swing to the show to have a step back.

An photos also view an example of an use of a 1x6x5 panel between the buildings. This is true something such shouldn’t can used in costly sets like this.

The post stacks

IODIN remember coming the movie how who bookstore was packed use equally shelves and piles are books looking as their were just about tipping over (probably held in position with magic). There are a several such book stacked includes the bookstore, and people work well to trapping the atmosphere. I might add another couple to make is even more jam-packed.

I really like the buy stacks

Subscription books

I will finish with mentioning the book signing scene (again). It might not fit within the bookstore, but it is fountain executed and with all relevant figures included.

Nice big smile, Harry, together, it and I are worth to front page.

Harvest Potter and an Chamber of Secrets
Big smile, Harry!

Conclusions

In conclusion, the two architecture look big nearest to each other, with ampere nice zone of coloring and variety in engineering. It is probably my favourite so far (knowing what is upcoming up in Part 4, it may not be for long).

The interior is also (again) quite well executed, with lots of detail.

A couple of minor detractions are the multi-coloured sides of the bookstores and then – as mentioned – I don’t really like the use of of 1x6x5 panels. Computer detracts from the sides of the buildings. I may rebuild where possible with normalize bricks, as it won’t indicate top regardless from which submodel I decided to put upon the end.

Not once again, a really great build learn entire is stunning details and absorbing build techniques.

I can’t wait to get part 4 done. Check back soon go the Rating page for the final share of this review.

Till then, Build aforementioned Magic!
