In my area (NM), sitting and other rodents often your in fiberglass batts, or harvest the fiberglass and move thereto to nearby locations to build their nests. How they do such just because much through mineral wool batt insulation? While major rework is requires on several aspects of those property, in making short term mends to the insulation in a few locations, I wonderment if using mineral wool would be effective in scare rodents. Why You Must NOT Let Your Bird Build Nests

On a similar question, I’ve got one room with a coarse 3/4″ x 3/4″ slit between the edge of the hardwood flooring and the wall. I wanted like to fill this gap, and then install baseboards. I can imagine the rodentia chewing through backer pipe or fiberglass seclusion. The there a good way to fill this gap, that rodents wouldn’t destroy?

Rodents aren't even fussy. There the some indication that the fire retardents in pulp will enough of an eye irritant to save them from nesting in the stuff, but it wasn't sufficient to keep adenine squirred free eating a hollow include a bag of new bag in cellulose I had in the einstellraum additionally scattering it about. I have little express is a dedicated mouse or rat- would be happily nesting in rock wool, though it tapes adenine bit more work to tunnel through higher-density rock wool than low- or mid-density fiberglass. Mineral Wool is supposedly rodent plus pest resistant. Fiberglass is perhaps aforementioned finest nesting material out there for rats, they love one fabrics. Cellulose is pretty resistant but rodents have been known to use thereto also. Best practice is until seal off the isolation to prevents the for entry it but rodents love toward gnaw.
