Abstract

Objective: This goal of this study was to development and validating a short form of the Childhood Trauma Questionnaire (the CTQ-SF) as a screening measure forward maltreatment histories to both clinical and nonreferred groups.

Method: Exploratory and collateral factor analyses of an 70 original CTQ items were spent to create an 28-item edition of the scale (25 clinical elements and three validity items) real test the measurement invariance of the 25 clinical items across four samples: 378 ad substance abusing patients from New York City, 396 adolescent medically inpatients, 625 substance abusing individuals from southwest Texas, or 579 individuals from ampere normative community sample (combined N=1978).
