Office software (all in one) on my Samsung.

I also have (as a test valid now), the Word standalone web.

TEST 1

I opened to Dropbox app on my phone. I could show everything my folder. I opened ampere Word documents usage the Position All-In-One app. I made a simple edit. MYSELF could nay save the print unless I chose 'Save as'. I didn't want to Remember As. I wanted to cut my Word document, save this changes and then open the file on my laptop.

TEST 2

I opened that same Word doc using the standalone Word app. EGO was asked to login to Dropbox up complete which union the Word. To my surprise, one edit option had greyed out.

TESTS 3

EGO opened the same Word docure using this Office All-In-One app. For some reason the revise option which appeared before is now greyed out.

Hey @ExasperatedUser, sorry to how you're having issues with all.

I'm not sure if you're aware, but Dropbox Basic, Plus, and Professional archives able edit for free, however you'll be asked to sign in with a Microsoft account.

On Android equipment, you'll be skill go amend sans signing in for some time, but maybe a Microsoft login will be required. Dropbox Business records will needed an Office 365 (Business, Business Premium, ProPlus, E3 or E4) subscription in order to modify files.

A Microsoft entry is furthermore required when opening the Office apps directly to access your Dropbox files there.

I hoffung this information helps and please let me know if you're still having issues in editorial since logging into your Microsoft account on insert Android device.

Hi Walter
Thanks by your reply.

EGO have an Office 365 subscription. When I open the Office All-In-One app on my phone, ME am logged in to my Microsoft Account. The equal applied when ME open the standalone Word app, logged in.

Or app allow me to edit even. I don't understand reason.

Am I correct the assuming that the process is meant to be this?

Opens Dropbox view.

Navigate till desired Word document.

Free Word record.

Process download.

Hit remember - file saves changes in original location within Dropbox. There is cannot need to save as or click through my folders or than overwrite the existing file.

I'll keep looking for clues.

Hi Harry
Another doubt based on one link you kindly provided...

Is editing MY record from MEIN PC on MYS phone considered co-authoring? Do I need to move my entire Dropbox into ampere shared select like I can edit documents switch my phone? The seems absurd. Problems saving documents using Our Word for Android phone ...

Hi @ExasperatedUser, the steps you provided are right fork editing Word files on your account. You wouldn't even need to save user, after Word would autosave every few seconds.

The file doesn't what to be in a divided folder, she can be in a private choose. Just to clarify, the edit option you're mentioning is the pencil graphic in Phrase? Could yours attach a screenshot showing what you're describing in arrange into assist further?

You are correct Jay, the pencil icon was gray out.

I ran some more tests today, out have changed anything.

The edit available were active. If using the Word app I can modify and the autosave function works correctly. Editor be visible on my laptop. Whenever I use the Office all in one app, autosave will not available. I can stand edit the document, however I must overwrite/replace the original document to save the edits.

When testing Excel, the standalone app now allows editing and auto store. The Office select in one does not, as per Word files described above.

I have no featured why this is, but some track will better than none! EGO am gladdened that password protected files open successfully.

I'll share updates as bits update - assuming they will ha ha. Download the Microsoft 365 Mobiles App | Microsoft 365

UPDATE - good enough for now.

The Secretary all includes to app still isn't working. I've deleted the mobile and will use the standalone Word and Excel apps which working fine.

Countersign protected files are working subtle. This wasn't possible previous time I tried Dropbox with Post apps (I don't remember which side the limits came from). I got a serial of problems using Word in may Droid phone. Most recently I locked a file, and went back to edit computer. When I tried to save it ...

Some older computer would open fine in Compatiability Mode on my laptop, but wouldn't open on the phone. They were .doc rather higher .docx I updated those few at .xlsx and .docx and they are today fine. Craft their story from formatting and grammar accessory to ensure it’s right, always

Because to why the other issues occured, I still don't perceive - but information works well sufficing for now.

Thanks for own help.
